Céline Kauffmann, Director of Programs at the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI) and Lead Co-Chair of Task Force 02 of T20 Brasil, highlights the recommendations of TF02 and the importance of the G20 in supporting countries in developing long-term transition plans that take into account the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of this process.
The TF02 – Sustainable Climate Action and Inclusive Just Energy Transitions proposes strategies to address climate change and promote the energy transitions necessary for the decarbonization of the global economy. Its goal is to develop recommendations and strategies to promote sustainable climate actions and influence the pathway toward a more equitable and resilient future for all.
On July 2nd and 3rd, the G20 Community and members of Think20 Brasil met in Rio de Janeiro for the “T20 Brasil Midterm Conference”. The Conference, held at the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), had as its main objective the debate and dissemination of information on the recommendations contained in the Communiqué, a synthesis of discussions by more than 120 national and international think-tank institutions from 33 countries.
